Before you set out on the head lice removal task, prepare yourself with a few things:

• Nit comb
• Dish filled with rubbing alcohol
• Hair clips

Really, as long as you're getting the lice out of the hair and disposing of them properly, there is no 'right' technique. But, you can do it so that it's a bit easier for you, and keeps you from having to repeat the process.

• Start by thoroughly shampooing the hair following the product directions. . This will immobilize the lice and make it easier to comb them out.
• Separate the hair into sections about the same width as the nit comb. Leave one section out and clip the others back with hair clips.
• Starting at the roots of the hair, comb the entire section once with the comb. Dip any lice and nits that you remove in the rubbing alcohol. Repeat, if needed.
• Repeat with remaining sections of hair.
• Once hair is entirely combed, thoroughly recheck the hair. If you see any lice or nits, repeat the entire process again.
